Ap!

will princeton consider rescinding my offer because I dropped an AP course?
It was computer science AP and it was administered online. The course didn't seem to be going anywhere so I dropped the course. Now i m just really worried.

Thank you

I don't have any experience w/ this, but as long as you are maintaining a reasonable courseload at school, than I would be suprised if they rescinded you for dropping one online AP course.

I don't think they would rescind it either, assuming the rest of your courseload is still strong. The absolute worst I'd expect is beginning with academic probation (assuming they have that).

You should call the admissions office to notify them that you no longer feel that AP Computer Science is a worthwhile course (eh, say it in a diplomatic way... I don't know) and will be dropping it. You get bonus points for being the one to notify them. Admissions people don't like to be surprised with things like this. If you let them know in advance (before they receive your final transcript), I can assure you that you won't be in trouble.

cool

yea I ll call them and notify them of the drop.

Just FYI

my course load this year includes

Physical Education
Physics AP
English Hon.
Calculus AP
Work Experience 12
Marketing 12

The course load shouldn't be a problem right?

Thank you all for your answers I was really starting to worry

Work Experience, Marketing, and PE don't count as core classes. You will basically be taking only 3 core classes...and it looks like you're in public school, where classes are assumed to be less rigorous (obviously I have no clue about the quality of your school though). Make sure you emphasize that Work Experience and Marketing are hard work when you call the Ad Office.

I did complete
Math Hon, Chem Ap, Bio AP, Econ Ap, lit Ap and other cores courses last year
so there weren't many core courses this year I could take. (we're on trimester system and yes we are a public school )

Hmm... kk

Thank you
