Format/Indent Essays?

I noticed the pdf generated from the Princeton supplement removes the tabs in my essays. Does that mean Princeton doesn't want any indentation/formatting? Should I at least put a blank line between paragraphs? Sorry if this has been asked before, thanks for any advice!

whatever you see in your PDF print preview is what Princeton will see

right, but do you know what they want to see? for example, do they want any separation between paragraphs (such as blank lines)?

Have you tried uploading your essay as a pdf file? (converting it from doc to pdf before you upload, rather than letting Pton generate the pdf).

I have no idea whether they want indentations or not. However, if you don't use indents, I would definitely use a blank line between paragraphs. You need something to separate paragraphs, and a blank line is customary block format.

the tabs in my PDF print preview have not been removed. i agree with luminouzz - just convert to PDF and then upload and DEFINITELY separate paragraphs.

You don't need to put a line between paragraphs if you indent.

Either indent, or put a line between paragraphs. But don't do both.

Does it matter if it's double or single spaced?

^Princeton does ask directly for single spaced essays though.

I did both (single spaced, with line between paragraph with indents). I thought it looked good.
