Princeton Acceptance Letter

A couple of days ago, I was curious as to what the acceptance/rejection letters looked like. I found an example from quite a while back and it pretty much just said, "Yes!" On the center of the page. Does princeton still do that? Thanks!

Packages are mailed to students via snail mail on the day decisions are announced. All students who applied can get an online user name and password to sign on at a pre-assigned time on decision day. Last year it was 4:00 on December 15th. You sign on and then watch these interminable squares crossing the screen until the decision letter appears (it's really only a few seconds but it feels like forever). Last year the letter said, "Congratulations!" for those students who were accepted early action. (Then there is a lot of screaming and jumping around and crying and unbelief and checking and re-checking the screen and pinching each other). =) The package appears in the mail a number of days later which includes details on the admissions offer.

The "YES!" was something that a former Dean was known for. They don't do that anymore. (Though there's a stone tile in one of the buildings that's named for him that has a giant YES! printed on it.) Mine was pretty ordinary from what I remember? :P I barely remember the hard copy, just logging in to the admissions website in the middle of dinner...

That makes so much sense, tiger14. I've been wondering why that "YES!" was there....
