casual wear; interviews are usually informal

i met my interviewer at the starbucks in the barnes and noble. i dont know if you are a girl or a guy but i am a girl and i wore jeans, a white oxford shirt, a sweater vest, and flats. my interviewer was only 24 so that was a factor in the outfit choice. also "the truth about getting in" which has been my college admissions bible says to wear what you want to wear, not what your parents want you to wear. just dont look messy. i would say a step up from normal school attire is appropriate.

Starbucks!? Thats some high class stuff, you should definitely go in black tie attire, if not white tie.

Seriously though, is it some deal Princeton ahs with STarbucks that they do all interviews there? With one exception, every interview I've heard about/read about was in a Starbucks.

i forgot to add that im a guy.

i know that it should be some sort of casual wear. do you think a sport jacket is two much? should i just wear a shirt and sweater with some pants?

Mine was pretty informal, and unless you are going to their house they like it that way. If it is at a public venue then you should probably just wear something casual but nice. Mine was today and I wore jeans and a button down hollister shirt. Dont worry too much about it.

my interview was with a doctor at his office, so I wore a sport coat and tie. I'd wear something casual to formal (probably not jeans). Khakis and a button up shirt usually don't go wrong. Depending on your interviewer, you may want to bump up to a sports jacket and tie.

Lol, my Princeton interview is tomorrow at a "Big Boy Restaurant." It should be some fun. The guy who is doing it is the president of the Princeton Club of this area.

I went to Starbucks too for my interview.
I wore nice jeans and a nice top.
But then again, my interviewer also told me it was okay for me to wear sweats and he showed up in sweats.

The key is not to outdress your interviewer, but also to not undersdress your interviewer.
