"To the prefrosh, with regards" (a bit of humor)

This is a wonderful editorial in today's edition of the Daily Princetonian. I hope you'll laugh as much as I did.

To the prefrosh, with regards - The Daily Princetonian

"Why, hello there, little prefrosh! Welcome to Princeton! How was your flight? Good? Delighted to hear it! Ah, but you look tired, prefrosh. Let me roll out my sleeping bag for you and get you some yummy Frist cookies to munch on. Hush now, I am going to tell you a bedtime story...

You actually laughed at this? Like... didn't think 'that's kind of funny'? Didn't smile for a second? Actually laughed?

Wow.

My little prefrosh, who wants to major in Philosophy, should be taking off from the airport right now. I hope he sees this while there. Thanks for posting it.

That was nice, and very well written, but I'm sure that the economic disparities at Princeton are as evident as they are everywhere else in life.

Yes that's certainly true. I think the point of the article was to dispel the stereotype that disparity is more evident at Princeton than elsewhere.

Bob, yes I did laugh, but I suppose one has to be an alum to get the full effect. Princeton is so commonly and falsely stereotyped in this way that it's something of an "inside joke." As Weasel and Jude correctly suggest, it's not that there aren't some people like this at Princeton, it's just that they are no more evident there than at Princeton's peers or in society at large.

This article is funny after having read the umpteenth post on this board asking if Princeton is elitist. The most elitist things about Princeton are the student SAT scores and the beautiful lawns.

LOL on the kids in pyjamas going to class. My D has done that....

I thought the article was SO FUNNY! Especially the "we're college students; we shop at Wal-Mart" part.
