ACT and Princeton

Is it true that Princeton unlike many other schools does not accept the ACT scores
in lieu of SAT I and SAT II scores?

If this is true, or even if it isnt true of Princeton, are there top schools where ACT scores are not accepted in lieu of SAT/
Thanks

From Princeton University | Standardized Testing,

"When applying for admission to Princeton, you must submit official scores for either the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT (with Writing, where available). All applicants must also take two SAT Subject Tests."

I personally cannot offhandedly think of a single college (at any level) that our family researched that does not accept the ACT in lieu of SAT (notwithstanding the supplemental requirements of SAT IIs and/or writing portions, etc.).

Curious...why would you want to know that?

because the act score is very good and would prefer not to take the subject tests of sat if not neccessary.

elihoff: Oh, I see. I think your 2nd question reads the reverse of that explanation. You've asked for a list of "top schools where the ACT is NOT accepted in lieu of the SAT".

But if you want to know what top schools DO accept the ACT only (plus the writing section of course, I'm sure you know that already)...then I did a quick glance at the spreadsheet I prepared for my D, that lists what is required, and I notice that both Yale and Brown will accept ONLY the ACT (no SAT IIs needed). Also, depending on your definition of "top" schools...NYU has many variable options allowable, that include the ACT alone (or even just AP exams).

Good luck to you.
