Hello, I'm a high school senior looking at Vanderbilt for next year. I see you received the Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship, congrats. I'm going to apply for it, and was wondering if you could supply some info. I don't want to sound intrusive, and if you don't want to answer my questions, I won't take any offense.I'm just trying to figure out my chances for receiving the scholarship.
Did you take AP classes if they were offered?
Did you have a lot of community service and ECs? Could you list some?
Did you have to go to an interview? How was it?
What was your essay about? Being as unbiased as possible, how did you think it was?
If you read your teacher recs, were they outstanding, or just generic?
What do you think was the reason you received the scholarship?
Did you think you had a chance?
Why did you turn down Vanderbilt for Cornell?
Thank you so much for answering these questions, and if not, thanks for taking the time to read them. I hope you have a good time at Cornell.
