Hi, I saw that you're quite knowledgeable about the UK admissions process. I finished my freshman year at a US university and I'm taking a gap year right now doing internship. I really want to start anew in the UK (cheaper tuition), specifically in Oxford or Imperial, and I was wondering if it's really true that taking the relevant APs are sufficient for getting an interview. For instance, I'm applying for Engineering Science (Electrical Engineering) and I know I have to take AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C. But other than that, if I take AP Psychology or AP Macroeconomics, getting a 5 on those wouldn't guarantee me an interview right? I see so many people taking so many AP classes even if they are irrelevant to what they want to study, and I'm wondering if that puts me at a disadvantage? I would be thankful for any input.
