@Portercat, yes I believe Edinboro has faced that problem in the past, and that they are now trying to change this.
We also have so many schools in PA, if cost constraints don't require students to attend the closest commutable school, and you are not accepted at Pitt, Temple or PSU UP, then there are numerous LACs to choose from (in PA and Ohio for example). And some students prefer to be at a smaller school.
With merit and need based aid those privates are comparable in price to Pitt, PSU branches and PASSHE.
Supposedly the IRS has a copy of your W-2 since the employer has to send one to you, and a copy to the IRS. Then why would a return be processed if the income reported doesn't match the numbers and employer on the W2?
If someone uses a different address on their tax return than previously (and did not notify IRS about an address change), or has different dependents listed than before, that should be a red flag.
