By AI do you mean artificial intelligence? If so, I'd recommend getting a Cognitive Science major over a CS/CSE one. Most of the people doing any AI-related work are in the Cog Sci group, and only two AI-type courses fall under the computer science major (Intro to AI, Machine Learning).
For what it's worth, I had a rather negative experience in Intro to AI. The only topic you learn in that class that you couldn't just pick up from Intro to Algorithms supplemented with a little foray into something like
