Question about the "Why this school of study" question on the supplement

They don't really give much information about what they want in the prompt. How long is it supposed to be? And what do they expect? Is it one of those essays where they want some background on you and some anecdote, or is it actually straight forward for once where they just want you to explain what about the school interests you. Also, how long is it supposed to be?

Would anyone who has experience with this mind reading mine? It's only 155 words, really short because I thought we were just giving a few quick reasons about why we chose that school.

I can't see my common app anymore, but if I am not mistaken, these are essays that are entered within text boxes with a rigid character limit. You cannot physically enter more characters than the limit they set. Conversely, the main essays and the Rice "Contribution" essay are not explicitly limited; it is up to you to police your word count and then upload the document. Unless they have changed it this year, but that's what I remember.

It needs to be as short as you need it to be. Make your point and submit that. Mine was fairly short as well.
