quick chance please?

i really fell in love with rice when i visited it this fall (i flew from CT to interview on campus and get a feel for it). i didn't want to apply to a school ED without having visited it, so I didnt ED, but if there was an ED-II option, i def would have gone for it.

Major Stats:
3.55 WGPA
5 APs (Econ Jr year, Calc AB, Stat, Chem and Comp sci Sr year)
2200 SAT (720 CR/750M/730 W)
700 Math I
730 Math II

major ECs:
-rugby team
-indoor track team
-co-president ultimate frisbee club (club grew from 6 to 23 from last year to this year)
-4 year member of the latin club

solid recs, one teacher let me read it and said that i was on a rooftop, stories above other students, and the other one said that he has seen me succeed in a variety of fields and is proud of my academic promise

my aunt is also best friends with an english teacher there, who I had a chat with after my interview. we got so wrapped up talking that she had to shoo me out the door and scurry off to her next class. this teacher is a good friend of dr. browning, the head of admissions, and she said that she'd be happy to write a letter to help me out...maybe it could help tip the scales in my favor

you guys think that i have a shot?

Yes, go for it. People would be reluctant to chance you but you definitely have a shot. (Just make sure that WGPA is not like 50th percentile, top 20%, you should be fine.)

So, you are a senior who has applied and are waiting for a decision? What difference does it make what we think? Just hang in there ... I know it's difficult waiting, but you are a viable candidate. Best of luck.

wow we're really close. same GPA basically

slightly lower SATI scores, but i took the ACT and did much better than the equivalent on SAT, better SATII scores (800 m2)

probably similar recommendations since my teachers love me lol

similar EC's but mine are probably more diverse, but no sports. only 4 ap's...

i think i'm not going to get in only because i'm not sure what my rank is (school doesn't rank but they give an interval chart, and im not in top 20%...at a top NJ school)

i also would have applied EDII! but, i never had time to visit before december, so i decided to go another way

good luck! i think we're hearing back in like 12 days!
