Rice Architecture!

Post here if you got in!

I hear they accept less than 30 people. Is this true?

Rice arch is 26 people or at least I'm pretty sure.
And hi sooxee, I'm your friend from facebook/chat. I don't think you know my CC name.

I've read that it's 24... and somehow, Rice wasn't sufficiently blown away by my application and portfolio to INCLUDE ME in that number

I got the "denied" email today.

I'm in! When I was at On-Campus Day, a few of us went to the SoA forum, where an official told me it was roughly 28-30 students out of approximately 300 who are accepted... (They assume roughly 25-27 will accept their offer.) Those are steep odds, but remember that most other schools weed out approximately the same percentage later on.

gibbsr88, could you tell us if there are a significant number of arkies on scholarship? That's the clincher for me... merit aid. Thanks.

Oh well, it doesn't really matter. No merit money here. I'm pretty bummed; it looks like my parents won't give a darn about Rice as of now.

bkwrm665, I also heard that this year it was 24. I don't know how many applied, though. Has anyone been notified of a scholarship just for architecture? (i.e., Not via the Office of Admissions). There are a few listed on the SoA website but I don't know anything about them.

I only know of financial aid scholarships here. To my knowledge there isn't any merit aid here, as all/most of the admitted students are pretty amazing already.

Also, the guy who does the admissions talked at a seminar we had and said that 42 were offered admission with the idea that 25 will accept. I know a few archies who were waitlisted and made it because less than 25 people accepted. They found out pretty late too, so you never know. There is still hope!
