NYSkins1,
I was there for the Humanities Panel and I felt it was pretty informative, and I liked hearing from students. Were you one of the two girls or the guy (sorry, i can't tell)
S2 and mom just returned from Owl Days. It clinched the deal for him. Even though Rice is quite a bit more expensive than WUSTL (at least for the first year), he'll be attending.
Just wish that our FA appeal had convinced Rice to come through with need-based aid in the same manner as WUSTL. Oh well.
P's Mom -- if you find you have some extra time while visiting, you might want to head over to the Museum of Fine Arts www.mfah.org or the Houston Museum of Natural Science The Houston Museum of Natural Science. They're both excellent museums and very close to campus -- actually one light rail stop away. Or you can head over to Rice Village and wander around. Rice Village
P's Mom--my wife did the parent tour type things on Monday morning, then did lunch at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant before sleeping all afternoon (work kept her up all night prior to 630 a.m. flight to Houston). Had dinner with friends from Beaumont that night. Tuesday a.m., wandered around campus and met with FA.
Just enough for her to get a decent feel for a campus that she had never visited before.
