dayum!!!! haha. i got in with 650W 590M 610CR!!!
BUT i think the reason i got in was because i showed them that i was a "person" (sry, if that makes NO sense)...make sure your essay is INSANE.

but no pressure.

I don't claim to be the authority on chances or whatever, but honestly, Rice is pretty forgiving with test scores. Mine were mostly crappy, but if you can make up for it with your IB scores, and really show them that you're interested, it's very likely you can get in. I think for me I really learned more about Rice and was very passionate about it, so that shone through. That, and essays are key.

I'm pakistani; the turkish thing will come in handy for that "diversity" essay--what you can contribute to Rice. I lived in UAE for a few years so I wrote about the art of making baklava and how I could feed hungry college students XD If you have culture, shoooooooow it.

Just individualize it. It's one of those things where hard work actually comes back--not really a crapshoot like hyp or washu.

lol... I'm not really sure if that was helpful >.>

Oh, and you should def go to rice so you teach me how to make turkish coffee <3

I'm an IB diploma candidate who will be applying to Rice!

What do you hope to major in? It is confusing that your HL's are English, Bio, and Physics yet you took a summer Economics course...

I want to go into economics. Those were the only HL's offered, so I had to take them.

Does anybody else have an idea of whether my application stands some sort of a chance?

Of course it stands a chance, it looks like a good app. Your EC's are also pretty good. You'll need to make sure your essays are also great, and I think you have a pretty good shot.
