It's been 6 days since I got accepted...

And I still can't believe it! I'm so excited to meet new people and be a part of the Rice community!

I worked hard and pushed myself to do my best in every one of my classes in college. I was not the smartest kid in high school, and I'm so thankful for the new opportunity.

I visited Rice as often as possible as I was preparing to transfer... The professors at Rice were very generous and even let me visit their classes/listen to their lectures, my friends who were at Rice were nice enough to show me around the campus a million times. :P I took 6 months writing my essays, I wanted to show that I was very serious about attending to Rice even though I was not as motivated in high school.

I will never forget the moment when I checked the status page on 4/25. Thank you Rice!!! <3

rice transfer

I'm a parent. My daughter applied as a transfer student to Rice and is having a difficult time with the decision to accept since Rice does not guarantee on-campus housing to transfer students. Anyone with advice on this?

Heh. I'm transferring to Rice too. I did a lot in high school but like nothing in college. I guess Rice doesn't care as long as you get straight As.

Transfer students can "buddy up" with other transfer students to rent apartments near campus. Check out the housing guide on the website. Some of the apartments run free shuttles to the med center, right by Rice. Others are on the rail line or within walking distance. Even off-campus, you will feel part of your residential college and you will have time during the O-week to meet everyone. My daughter liked living off-campus, since it was cheaper and gave her a little more space.

You will love Rice. The campus is so pretty and Houston's weather is at its best in the school year
