During O-Week your orientation advisors will take you to Target to get whatever essentials you will need. Target has decent sheets for a reasonable price. You might want to wait and get them then.

If you want to make your bed when you get there, order ahead from Target on line and have them delivered. Your selection will be better. You will have the shipping instructions when you get your college assignment. SL are sometimes hard to find if you wait until OWeek.

Any sheets that are Twin XL will work. Don't order through Rice; they're horrendously overpriced.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a system, almost like a wedding registry. You go around with a scanner and tell them what you want for school. They then get the schools address and send it to arrive slightly before you do. That's what's great about the colleges, they have a set up where they can receive your packages right before your arrive. It worked very well for us. If you need something not in that store BB&B can also have it shipped from another store.

We used the Bed, Bath, and Beyond system last year (coming from New England). When we got to Houston, our order was ready and waiting. You can change it when you get there, as they don't ring it up until you pick it up. There's also a SuperTarget right near campus.

I just noticed you're in Tokyo- perhaps you can pre-order on line at Bed, Bath, and Beyond or at Target and pick it up when you arrive.

You don't even have to go to BB$B to pick it up, we managed to send it to Sid Rich. You can order on-line, as well.

I wouldn't order through Rice--it was way too expensive. Target is about 5 minutes away and is probably half as expensive. If you're going to have a car (or person with a car) when you arrive in Houston, I'd say don't do it.

Also, regular twin sheets still fit on the beds, even though they're a little tight. I just bought a new set from Target, and they didn't have any Twin XL, so I bought regular twin. They fit just fine.
