Dorm Question

I was wondering how i would go about getting a single dorm even if it cost more. I seem to be unable to study with distractions...one of the picky studiers lol . I live a pretty secluded life!

You pretty much can't. Everyone pays the same for on campus housing and it's a crapshoot as far as where you're put. Chances are probably around 2% that you'll get a single as an incoming student. College is distraction central, so my advice to you would be to get to know the library if you want to study alone and without distractions.

The library is always a really, really good place to do studying. Unlike high school libraries, there are tons of nooks and crannies with desks and tables in them, and it's always SILENT, except for the humming of the air conditioners.

I thought I would absolutely loathe having a roommate, and it wasn't true at all. Rice really, really does a good job with roommate matching, and in the very rare cases that they don't, it's just for the first year. Don't worry about it! Everything'll be great. =)

Best of luck!
