When they say "You should update your file in writing via mail or email, informing us of your interest in Rice or spring term accomplishments", what does this really mean?

If I'm still in interested in Rice and I've accepted my spot on the waitlist do I then bombard them with any little petty thing I've done since January? Or are they more interested in more significant things with huge "wow" factors like winning a national competition or qualifying for the Winter Olympics? I'm assuming by accomplishments they mean extracurricular?

Just curious, that's all. What do y'all think? Throw your thoughts out there, thanks

You already notified them of your interest by accepting the wait list. Update your file once with any significant accomplishments since you submitted your application. Update again if you get any major awards at the end of the year. That is sufficient. They don't want an attendance award, but if it would have been worthy to include in your original application, it is worthy of an update. Accomplishments are in anything where there was an actual result, not just participation. .

Well obviously they're more interested in huge things than petty things. But we don't know how big anything has to be before it makes a difference in your file. Tell them about whatever you think would be "accomplishments"!

dont bombard them. I guess a good piece of writing, some new competition results or a major accomplishment would help.

They want something that will set you apart from the crowd

Thanks for the input everyone. There have only been a couple major non-academic accomplishments for me in the last few months so I guess I'll just send a description of those their way...
