Anyone RD get major scholarship?

Hello...

I read on Rollins' website that to be considered for their major scholarships (Cornell, Dean, Or Donald Cram) you should apply by Jan. 5.

Can you apply RD early and still be considered for these scholarships or are they reserved for only those who apply ED?

Also, does anyone know if these scholarships can be stacked so that most of tuition and room/board is covered.

Rollins looks wonderful, but to be able to afford it, my D will have to have major scholarship funding.

Thanks!

My S did not receive those scholarships but two others. One does not seem to be offered anymore to incoming students at this time but his are annually renewable after meeting the criteria.

Anyway I know he applyed RD sometime in January and knew within a few weeks of acceptance and scholarship offers. My thoughts are that you can apply RD to be considered for the top merit scholarships but that all ED are automatically considered. Reading the Rollins scholarship page there does seem to be some ambiguity so I would recommend you call the admissions and/or financial aid office for clarification.

I would imagine that those top scholarships could be combined with another one. My son's merit aid does. If the merit aid does not compete with another college and she really wants Rollins you can try to bargain but the next option would be to add on work study. Please call the office because they are very helpful. I was truly impressed with the admissions office and found everyone we spoke with to be friendly.

S received a combination of two scholarships (deans and one other one) which result in 3/4 tuition award. He applied early action which is no longer an option at Rollins. It is my belief that you need to apply as early as possible to get full consideration for scholarships but you can apply RD but don't wait until the last minute to apply. I echo sweet tea's coments that you should call the school, because it is not a big school I have always found that the administrators were very helpful and they can probably answer your scholarship questions. It is my belief that the longer you wait to apply the less likely you will be to obtain full consideration for all scholarships.
