Riesen, I would call again tomorrow and tell them you were told it was mailed over a week ago and you still have not received it and given that it is April 7, your daughter needs a response in order to weigh her options and ask if it is possible for them to email you the decision as you wait for the official letter.

I called this morning. Another rejection. They did not know why the letter had not been sent. Oh, well...at least the waiting is over and the decision can be made.

Riesen,

Sorry to hear the news with Roosevelt. Glad you can bring closure to that one and move on. This is a process wrought with rejections and surely that part is no fun. Once you get past this part, things get better, they really do.

I know MT kids who are happy at all three of the schools your daughter is admitted to. I imagine this time next year, your D also will be happily immersed in one of these programs.

Well, my son was taken off the wait list and offered a MT spot yesterday. Now we are doing the scramble to try and get FA figures and compare to UArts where he has already sent in a tuition deposit for their BFA acting program. So far, the scholarship offered to him from Roosevelt is MUCH smaller than the UArts scholarship. We'll see what the rest of the package holds.

AZKMom - How long after the e-mail did you get a letter? And how long after the letter did you get a financial aid notice?

The day after my son replied to the email, there was a message on our machine asking for transcripts. I faxed them over that day. Emails were exchanged and the offer letter was sent via email a few days later (late last week) and actually arrived in the mail this past Monday. Last Friday, I was in contact with the FA office and they wanted verification for our FAFSA information, so that was faxed over Monday morning but were able to give us an estimate of a package. I received via email Monday afternoon a revised and final FA package (slightly larger scholarship than originally offered). After a family meeting Tuesday night, complete with spreadsheets, my son decided to stay with UArts which offered a MUCH better financial package. So, the whole process took a little over a week.

On another note, my husband was born and raised in LaCrosse and we met at University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. He is a UW-L grad (music major). We try to get to LaCrosse as often as we can and love going back. We still have friends there. I hope you fall in love with LaCrosse, we love it. We have a college friend whose daughter recently graduated from Viterbo. She was originally a MT major (switched to vocal performance) and she loved Viterbo. She has recently been accepted to Roosevelt to pursue a masters in Opera performance. My own son, in the end, chose not to audition at Viterbo because he didn't want to be in the same town where his Mom & Dad attended college and where we still have many contacts. I was hoping he would, so we had more opportunities to visit!! I don't think that sounded as appealing to him, though.

Good luck LizMT
