Roosevelt University?

Does anyone out there have any first hand knowledge regarding Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University? I've already done a forum search and haven't found much. Interested in knowing if the program is well respected and/or considered a "top", "mediocre" or "avoid" consevatory. D is concerned because she's been told it's not accredited, but from their website it seems to be accredited. Any info would be appreciated, really, as DD is considering Chicago as a very viable possiblity for college. Thanks!

I can't tell you much about it....but they came to Interlochen last summer to visit and recruit campers. Interlochen is a very well-regarded institution and I know they wouldn't invite a school that wasn't top.

They made a good impression on me when they were there and I have full intentions to apply there

Roosevelt

At least two graduating seniors from Walnut Hill's acting program are attending Roosevelt in the fall. One is a very talented dancer; the other a good actor. Neither is truly a triple threat (those kids are going to Carnegie Mellon, CCM, Julliard or University of Michigan). However, I'd put Roosevelt on the list for consideration. Similar to Interlochen, Walnut Hill's college counselors wouldn't recommend Roosevelt if it didn't advance their graduates.

Both of my best friends attend CCPA for MT and I am re-auditioning in the spring...so my knowledge is decent as I am there frequently and attend Columbia College just down the street.

A real drawback to auditioning for Roosevelt in 2006 is that this year one can't audition for MT at Unifieds - last year one could. I think all MT candidates have to go to Chicago to audition this year.

It's too bad, as we just can't afford trips that far this year for one audition.
