composition of the orchestra - music and non-music majors
anyone know the composition of the orchestras at Olaf as far as which were music majors and which were non music majors, say, last year? I undestand there are two orchestras at olaf.
related questions on the orchestras: is it true that there are two orchestras? is one the '1st string' and the other the '2nd string'?
The St. Olaf Orchestra and Philharmonia are both open to both music majors and non-music majors. I think the percentage of majors in the St. Olaf Orchestra (the top tier orchestra) is a little over 50%, and I'm imagining it's somewhat less in Philharmonia. However, they are both very strong, and next year will be conducted by the same director.
I'll be a sophomore at Olaf next year; feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. Out of curiousity, what instrument do you play?
