Is it ok to send the SATs score before you send the app?

Is it ok to send the SATs score before you send the app?
The SAT registration allows you to send up to 4 colleges for free right?
But I don't think i'll finish the application on time
Will the SAT scores report get lost if I don't send the application in first?

I am a junior and took the october test. I sent my results to 4 colleges for free. I asked this to my advisor, and she said it was ok if I was certain that I would apply to those colleges.

Generally, a college will start an application file in your name whenever it receives a test score or an application and thus either can come first although there have been reports, including once in a while on these boards, of colleges sometimes "losing" the test score when it is sent first.

Ditto to what drusba said. Most colleges receive scores electronically, so if you don't have a current application, your scores will remain "on file" until you send in an application.
