I must BEG YOU again: grade my essay plz

SAT II Writing, on the 1-6 scale please. I reeaaaally appreciate it!
Prompt: Many things in my life have been difficult but the most difficult was when_______
fill in the blank and write an essay explaining.

-->Life presents all people with obstacles and challenges, but for every person, there are a few difficult situations that become forever etched in memory, possibly because of the pain they still cause years later, or maybe as a result of the lessons they taught. I, too, have experienced many difficulties, but the most difficult situation I can recall was when I was forced to decide whether or not to let a close friend get away with cheating.
-->Academic integrity is of utmost importance in schools around the world, probably more in recent years than ever before. Part of pursuing an education is learning to do individual, original work and to eschew the temptation to take the easy road: cheating. While almost everyone has collaborated on homework assignments now and then without too much serious thought, cheating on a major assignment of test is a much greater offense. I take my studies very seriously and take pride in knowing that every grade I receive, good or bad, is my own work. Unfortunately, not all student view education from this perspective.
-->I was faced with an agonizing decision when one of my close friends revealed to me that he had cheated on a recent test, and received an A+. At first I though little of it, but a few days later, I head that the teacher suspected cheating and had already caught a few kids. When he asked everyone if we knew of any cheaters, my stomach began to churn. I did know of one, but he was my friend, and he had trusted me with his secret. I struggled relentlessly trying to decide what to do.
-->In the end, I felt morally compelled to tell the truth and turn my friend in for cheating. For weeks afterward, I felt like the most depraved friend in the world. However, I had since realized that in the long run, I helped my friend to grow by showing that cheating was not a viable way to earn an education. This difficult situation helped me to define my own principles, and will undoubtedly help me to overcome future difficulties.

*I have included all the original spelling errors, etc. Also- for the type of prompts where it wants you to fill in the blank, does anyone know if you are supposed to repeat that sentence word for word in the essay? Thanks mucho!

I'd rate your essay writing skills at a 6 (though don't get too excited...i'm just a sr., not a grader or a teacher or anything), and I'd rate the quality of your friendship at a 1. Most important is whether or not you wrote this in 20 minutes.

Wow...how do you have any friends if you sell them out like that the first chance you get? How do you expect anybody to tell you anything now?

jlaws30, the point of this thread is not to criticize the person, but to critcize the essay.

Interesting and thoughtful. I would also give it a six - your descriptive terms will definitely help gather points from readers.

I was one of the people who *gasp* did not prepare for the Writing SAT II, but I loved the thrill of writing the essay in a mere 20 minutes. The only problem I encountered was that of the three reasons in supporting my essay, I made up one ^^; Perhaps others do as well in the spontaneity of the moment.

Best of luck Rest up, indulge, and remember that standardized tests only control you if you let them!

wow.. Thanks, you guys are putting ideas into my head. If I had saw a question like that, I would have sat there forever trying to examine my life. Now I'll just make something up.

And.. I'll go with five. The first sentence is somewhat long (I would have probably liked it split up between "life presents problems" and "difficult problems"). Also, maybe avoid over eschew? But, yeah.. Everything else is pretty much great.
