Telluride email

Just got an email from the Telluride people. Don't worry, this isn't one of those, "Does this email from Harvard mean I'll get accepted?" threads. They said:

"Why am I receiving this message? You have received this message because you opted to allow the Educational Testing Service to share your information with us. As one of the top PSAT/NMSQT scorers in your area, you were identified as a promising candidate for TASP. PSAT/NMSQT scores do not, however, play a role in our admissions process once you apply."

Thing is my GC hasn't given them out yet, and he has stated that he will give them out when his ready. Anybody else get this? So does anyone know what the threshold for this was, to give me an idea for the score?

And I saw the e-mail. They said it's free. WHATT??!

Edit: OH. Guidance Counselor hahah. Well get on your GC's butt, since most of the CC'ers have got them now. Don't wait until after break!

Haha I was just about to start a thread like this!

Does anyone know if getting a TASP email indicates a good PSAT score? Are there different ranges for different states?

Telluride usually sends emails to the top scorers I think. I got one too, but I can't say whether the PSAT score determined the email because I got a 240. Seeing how TASP is a VERY rigorous application process and a very selective selection, the emails are probably to those who scored well..

S got the Telluride info. too. Definitely apply and yes, it's free if you get accepted . Look in the Summer Programs section on CC and you'll find a lot more info on it.

S got a 228 on PSAT, but don't know what Telluride uses as an indicator of whether to send the application info.

Telluride sends letters/emails to those who score ~225 and up. Congrats! that means you are probably a promising candidate for Telluride. Getting in is a huge honor indeed and will go a LONG way in college admissions!

I think the telluride is based in percentile rather than just strictly score because I got an email and in in the 99th percentile and I got a 216.

I agree with xmsamurai. I received a brochure and I'm only a 213.

I got a 207 but no letter... Maybe because I live in California though.
