Architecture/Industrial Design School

My son took his first SAT. Scored 1860 and has 3.7 GPA. Is in Symphony Band, Boy Scouts, the local university youth symphony, tennis, newspaper editor. Will have to do a retake on the SATs since he didn't study at all. What are his chances at Univ of Cincinnati, VA Tech, Pratt, Carnegie Mellon. And any suggestions in the IL, IN, IA, WI, PA, NY, OH area?

I'm not sure how competitive those majors would be at those schools. To get an idea of general scores, etc you can look up the Common Data Set for each school (google it). Section C-7 will show how much each attribute gets weighted, section C-9 shows the 25%/75% for scores, section C-11 shows grade breakouts. Here is UCs: http://www.uc.edu/content/dam/uc/pro...n-Data-Set.PDF However, UC has more detailed info for the Ind Design Majors: Academics, University of Cincinnati. You may have to google "industrial design average scores University of X" for each school.
