My two scores are as followed.

ACT
Composite:33
English: 33
Math: 34
Reading 36
Science: 29
Essay: 10

SAT:
Composite: 2130
Critical Reading: 660
Math: 750
Writing: 720 (Essay 10, MC 690)

The only reason I would take the SAT again over the ACT is that many of the colleges that I will be applying to are private universities and will superscore the SAT. None of the colleges superscore the ACT. Would it a better option to go and just hope for the best on the ACT or to take the SAT in hopes of bringing the critical reading up along with the superscore? Thanks.

It would seem that your ACT-Science score is an aberration. However, you would need to improve AT LEAST to a 31 on a retake in science to improve your composite by one point ASSUMING your other scores remain the same. Indeed, a 34 is MUCH better than a 33 with some of the most selective schools.

By contrast, the SAT might give you a better opportunity to improve because of superscoring. Do your favorite intended schools require that you disclose ALL you SATs regardless of superscoring?

33 is in the top 1% of scores and that puts you in the middle 50% of ALL top schools, including HYPSM.

you really shouldn't be worrying about standardized tests anymore.

The thing with retaking my ACT is that my reading score may only go down. On practice tests my science score was usually around a 33-34 while my reading was more around the 30s. On the real test however the scores seemed to have been the opposite.

The major private schools I am looking at do say to report all of the SATs I have or will have taken regardless of superscoring but say they will just take the highest.

Perhaps I should take a few practice tests of each test over the summer to give me a better idea on how much I have improved and which test I should actually take when the time comes.

33 is good enough tho. I mean if you are not majoring in a science field. It'll be alrite

For the private schools, I probably will apply undeclared to Letters and Science.

If you are getting a superscore, then you'll be able to study your reading and writing and boost that score.

I wouldn't retake. Schools should know that the Science section is more of reading comprehension of passages and graphs than actual scientific knowledge.
