Retaking?

Does retaking an SAT subject test look bad to colleges, especially those which require all tests scores?

Not as long as you improve it. If your retake scores are the same or +/- 10 points, it looks like you just showed up for the test with no additional studying.

What if you prepared even more for a retake and scored around the same score? I'm asking this because sometimes the test might be harder than the original one.

colleges are only able to judge your preparation and knowledge by whats in front of them. and that is the test scores. so even if you prepare extra hard, but somehow get the same score as before, that will reflect poorly on you. what was the score (and test) that you are planning on retaking?
