SAT or ACT for me?

This is my current SAT score:
CR: 550
Math: 800
Writing: 710

I have taken prep courses for over 3 years, because of my SAT score in 7th grade (360, 690M, 360). My mom totally freaked out. lol

My low CR is because I don't like to study vocabs and the reading part is just... difficult.

Therefore, I bought the real ACT guide and took the first and second test (no prep, no previous experience).

My projected scores are:
Reading: 26
English: 26
Math: 36
Science: 36

I do wonder why my English is so low, since I have a great writing SAT score and I believe I'm good at grammar. I think I can pull this to at least 32 with studying over the summer.

Therefore, should I take the ACT or stick to SAT? I believe ACT is easier than SAT.

BTW, Asian going to American school in Asia with American passport, since my mom said that college 'know' Asians take ACT because they suck at English and good at Math/Science.

Also, please recommend any ACT prep books for me, and I don't need any prep for math/science.

Thanks.

You just need to work much harder on this. Until then your score won't improve in either SAT or ACT.

Seconded. Like it or not, reading long, boring things is part of life and it won't go away in college. You need to push yourself because there is no quick fix for the SAT CR or ACT Reading sections. Study grammar rules and move as slowly as you comfortably can (without compromising your ability to move through the test efficiently) so that you can "hear" where things are going wrong in the sentences and correct them appropriately.

I understand how you feel about critical reading. That is the hardest part for me for the same reasons, but I worked hard to improve my critical reading score and although it is still not great, it is way better than it was originally.
