Translation of letter of recommendation from Portuguese to English

Hi, I'm from Brazil and I would like to study in USA. I took the toefl, sat... But I have a question about letters of recommendation. I want to apply for
4 colleges. Do I have to translate every letter? I was thinking about if I could translate some letters and later take xerox and send to colleges. This way I would translate just two or three letters. Because maybe can get expensive. Is there another way? The same thing happens to school report. What do you guys do? I would be very grateful.
Sorry for my grammar mistakes.

Actually you can't translate your letters yourself. The colleges require official translations along with the original letters.

Where do you live in Brazil? I know that in Rio de Janeiro the Fulbright Comission translates documents. Anyway you'd have to pay for both the translation and the extra copies.

BTW, which colleges are you applying to?
