I had been worrying so much, and when I took the actual test, I felt very good about my performance. What section do you struggle with the most? The least?

I'm a bit anxious/nervous for the PSAT, which I am taking this Saturday. (10/20) I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight on what they think I could score. I am aiming to qualify for the National Hispanic Recognition Program and as a National Merit Commended Student. I live in the west (Cali), so I'm pretty sure the cut-off for NHRP last year was 184, and the national cut-off for NM Commended was 200. I'm pretty confident for NHRP, but I'm unsure whether are not my chances are good for NM Commended.

Here are my past test scores: (in this order)
PSAT (Sophomore Year) - 181
Official CB Practice Test - 199
PR Practice Test -193
Peterson's Online Practice Test - 208

Any predictions or insight (especially based on personal experience) would be helpful. Just trying to see where I stand.

Also, any advice on how to raise my score in the little time I have. Anybody know of any other free practice tests? I have a Barron's PSAT book that I haven't used yet, which has 5 practice tests, but I heard they aren't very accurate and there aren't any raw score to scaled sore conversion charts which bothers me, lol. I still may end up using them, though.

Edit: P.S. I know nobody can predict my score, I know that test-day conditions can change everything, and I know I am over-stressing over this, but I am just looking for some general opinions to help me gauge where I'm at.

Honestly, don't panic. Even though I'm a sophomore ( I took the test today), I felt more in control on the actual test. I noticed that the practice test that I took felt hard in comparison to the real thing. Relax, you'll probably ace the darn thing.

I took the test yesterday, and after discussing the answers with some people, I can pretty much deduce I'll get between a 185-195. I got a 215 on the practice test.

I made some extremely stupid math and CR mistakes (pleased with writing). Fortunately I'm only a sophomore.

I think you'll be fine, but tbh, I feel like there isn't a really reliable way of predicting your score. If you felt good about it and you felt in control of the test, most likely you did well.

Case in point: I took the PSAT in my sophomore year and got a...197? Or something like that...

In my junior year, I didn't study for it (well actually I suppose I did in a way, having taken the SAT during the weeks before) and got a 224.

Besides, remember that you're still a sophomore, so the PSAT counts for nothing right now; it's still just a practice for the real PSAT next year!

jpvn2015, that makes me a bit nervous. Silly mistakes can quickly lower your score. Best of luck next year, once it counts.

RawrJjong, congrats. I'm hoping a similar jump happens for me lol. Oh, and sorry if I wasn't clear, but I'm a Junior this year.

OACLJV, it actually differs from test to test, but I think my weakest is Writing. (then Math, then CR)

I don't know why my comment is on top and if others are seeing it that way...

Anyway, that's good! I think the writing is the easiest thing to improve on, followed by math, and then critical reading. For writing, I went from regularly missing a few writing questions just from not having ever studied grammar rules to now being able to get pretty much all of them right. With math, there are certain strategies that you can learn. I feel like Reading is a very hard area to improve in, but maybe that's just me.

9th/10th grade 180

2 months of studying hardcore every day...
2290 on BB test
220 on PR psat
222 released test
216 released test
except these last 4 were in a different order i got the 216 last but 222 first

I know I got my national merit cut off for sure (one of the lowest states' scores) but my ultimate goal (I really want to achieve it) is 220 or higher.

Update for those who are interested: I got a 206 (71 CR, 69 M, 66 W). Thanks to everyone who helped calm my worries before the test! Also, I took the SAT in December and got a 2180 (730 CR, 670 M, 780 W).
