SAT II for UC's?

I've heard that SAT II's have become more of "brownie points," but is it necessary to take them for top UCs (UCLA, UCB, UCSD)?

GPA:
unweighted: 4.0
weighted: 4.35
SAT: 1740
Rank: Top 7%
5 AP's

ECS:
Cheerleading (captain 3 years)
NHS
CSF
Key Club
Yearbook Editor
Hospital Volunteer
Freshman Orientation Leader (2 years)
Student mentor
Work experience (restaurant, orthodontist office, indoor go-karting facility)

Help please! I do not know the importance of these tests!

You only really "need" them if you're majoring in engineering, but you should worry more about your SAT score. A 1740 isn't gonna cut it for UCLA/UCSB/UCSD.
