act science: what does it show?

hey. so i have a question about act science. does it really show how proficient you are at science? because i like to think that im decent at science in school, but on act i got a 31. and to me, act science is basically the reading version but written through a scientific perspective. any thoughts?

It basically measures how good you are with reading/interpreting data, as well as proper scientific procedures.

but does it show anything about your actual knowledge in science? cuz i consider myself pretty decent at physics. in other words, does it measure your knowledge in actual science?

That's not my impression at all. D got 33 on the science section and said that on one of them she had no idea what they were actually talking about. But she's apparently pretty good with getting information from graphs and the like so was able to figure out what they were asking about. I think it's more designed to see if you have an eye to understanding graphs, interpreting data, etc. rather than specific scientific knowledge.
