How to improve my sat score by another 200 points?????

Hello everyone. I took the sat in June and received a 1480. I took it cold and did not know what to expect. I retook it and received a 1780 on my oct sat by just familiarizing myself with the questions but not really studying much. My breakdown now is 520M, 610CR, 650W(9e). I want a 1900-2000, what are some things I can improve to get my score up? Any tips and advice would be appreciated!

I know what helped me a lot was practicing the math section while actually timing it as I used to always run out of time before answering all the questions. I improved on the math section by 110 points just by practicing some while doing that, but that's probably just because that was my problem. Now if I could just improve the writing section...

Get the CB Blue Book and take timed practice sections, as many as you can.

Get the Gruber book for math. The problems are extremely similar and it gives you some shortcuts too, along with all the basics you need to know.

There are some great guides on the site written on the essay ...
How to Write a 12 Essay in Just 10 Days

And for the CR ....
How to Attack the SAT Critical Reading Section Effectively

Also be sure to check out Silverturtle's guide.

Personally, on the essay I always write three examples - one personal, one historical, and one current event. It helps if you have background knowledge (aka examples) going into the test, so you don't have to spend precious time coming up with examples.
