sat grammar question

is the sentence "elated by his sat score, philip decided to throw a party for his friends"
isn`t "his" a ambiguous pronoun sice philips comes later in the sentence
also where can i find a comprehensive list of idioms

It's not ambiguous; there's no other subject to confuse "his" with.
