Good books to read for Sat critical reading prep

What books should I read to increase my critical reading score? I had a terrible score on my psat(sophomore year) and am planning on taking a course or getting a private tutor. Also what can I do to improve my vocab?
thanx

Memorize the common words, (plenty books to do that with), and just use the official SAT guide to take practice tests. YOu have to remember, every answer HAS to be supported by the text. Try to be intesrseted when reading, and make sure every answer is backed by what u read, and u should be fine. it takes practice

Also, just read random books. Not even difficult or academic-related books. Just whatever, because you wilil be able to read faster which gives you a major edge in the CR section.

It's honestly very difficult and time consuming to study the vocabulary. I was having trouble with the CR section, but mainly on the passage-based questions. I bought Barron's 2400 booklet, which contains only the hardest CR questions you will see. I used it for one week and my CR score jumped 100 points.

I haven't used other books and I didn't practice any vocab, but you might wanna check it out.

uh id practice reading passages from the real sats. Reading books is different. You're INTERESTED in reading it. Passages are boring as hell, gotta get used to that

Here is a book I particularly interest in. It is called Blindness, by Jose Saramago, the winner of the nobel prize for literature in 1998. The novel has over... 800 SAT frequent words.

just read as much as possible. vocab isn't really SUCH a big deal so don't stress too much over that.
