SAT grammar question

NEARLY ALL of the editors of the magazine AGREE that of the two articles TO BE PUBLISHED, Fujimura's is the MORE EXICITING. NO ERROR

(College board book page 540)

The answer is "no error", but I don't understand why "more exiciting" is correct. Can someone explain why it is correct? Thanks alot!

uh, first of all, what do you think is wrong with it?

if you were under the impression it should be "is the most exciting," that doesn't apply b/c there's only two articles in question.

"More exciting" is correct because only two things are being compared. If there were three or more, it would be "most exciting".

oh i see. it isn't a misplaced modifier though, so the "one" to clarify that the article is what is exciting is unnecesary, because ,the " 's " at the end of "Fujimara" implies that it is his article that is being described.

oh i see thanks. I was just thrown off by the "the". If it said "fujimura's is more exciting", I would have thought it was right, but since it said "fujimura's is THE more exciting", I thought I would have to add the "one".
