Word. I realized that taking the time to think of a book/play/event that really fit the topic well was more effort than its worth, especially since the two people reading it are spending a minute or so in total. Better to simply craft a plot that fits perfectly and make up a catchy title and some fun character names.
Although I will admit that taking AP US History helped for the occasional example.
