| 2200+ is not necessary for all merit aid.
I only did slightly better than you, and I was offered a full ride (tuition + room and board) at Brandeis. I'll be attending Princeton this fall. It's NOT all about your SAT score.
If you can, you should try to improve your score. It does play a pretty significant role in admissions, and higher scores do increase your chances of getting into a better college. However, I wouldn't obsess about this.
Colleges nowadays are much more interested in your whole 'package'
GPA, ECs, essays, letters of rec, interviews, etc
Don't lose sight of your entire package when you are stressing about your SAT scores. It's only a PART of your package. Remember to give some TLC to the rest, especially essays IMO. |
