| Largest Jump in Math?
I was just wondering what scores people started out at in the math section, and what scores they ended up with. |

| Sophomore PSAT 760 -->> Junior PSAT 690
That's still an absolute value of 70! Although barring any dumb mistakes I'm fairly confident in the math section that I took on the fifth. | |

| what did you do for that jump mr.CCPWNZ ? I am in a similar situation as you I got a 440, and I am going for a high 600 to a 700. | |

| oct 2007 SAT math -> 600
sept 2007 PSAT -> 70 ( equivalent to 700)
may 2008 SAT math -> 720+
im confident about this may math section =D
the reason why i got such low scores on my first SAT was that i rushed thru the easy ones,and left like 13 mins remaining for the last 3-4 problems,and made so many mistakes.
i was not bright to do that, now im more careful in the easy ones =) | |

| 680 > 720 > I hope something better (i think i only missed one or two).
For some reason the December SAT (the 680) just threw me off. I didn't really prep in between. I had to learn to avoid stupid mistakes.

| October 2006 (Sophomore) PSAT: 600
October 2007 (Junior) PSAT: 690
March 2008 (Junior) SAT: 770
I attribute the sophomore psat to junior sat increase to a great algebra II teacher. | |

| Last summer (June/August 07) i went to a princeton SAT class where I took my first-EVER SAT practice test. i think i got a 490 math, a 470 reading, and a 530 writing. something liek that. in march 08 i took the real SAT i got a 710 math, 730 reading, 710 writing, and i think i *may* have improved on the may SAT, but idk scores yet so we shall see. just to make it clear, it was NOT the course that really brought up my scores. conforming to the stereotype, i am asian and half-decent at math, but it's just that i wasn't really used to the type of problems/wording for math on the SAT. they only have a few tricks up their sleeves, so just learn to spot and transcend them. from the class my score mightve went up from like a 1600->1850, but mind you, it cost my parents $1100, which is completel ******** considering they spent ~$40 on a few books for me to work on over a few months and my score went up to a 2150. breaking 2000 was, and now breaking 2200 is the critical barrier for me. | |

| PSAT sophomore: 800
PSAT junior: 690
SAT: 700
Haha, yeah ok I'm not getting dumber. It's more like when I was a sophomore, I only prepared for the math section using a really good SAT math website(and it cost money). But then for junior, I concentrated more on writing and reading so I slacked off in math(plus, I got a little too cocky about how I'm going to get high score again.) And yeah the same thing happened for SAT, I slacked off in math but studied for writing and reading. | |
