| according to our postgraduate expert person at school, colleges don't look at percentiles very much on the SAT II because it's just the top tiny fraction of test takers that take it. The percentiles are really messed up, specially since people almost always choose to take the tests in their two best subjects. Clearly nobody's going to look at an 800 math II score and say it's worse than an 800 math I score because the 800 math I score is in the 99th percentile and the math II score is "only" in the 91st. The math II score is clearly better, and colleges know that. They're definitely looking at the score and (in math) the level of the test, not the percentile. |
