Do you get the commended letter at home or at school? Maybe because I am on break is the reason that I did not get it yet.

PS: I got a 202,that's high enough right?

Others are reporting getting the letters at school, mcvcm92. I got a 208 and haven't got mine yet, and I'm not on break. Then again, my school's guidance department is pretty terrible, so who knows?

Got my letter at school today

I heard from a fellow student that the cut-off was 201.

I got a 219 and have not received any letters yet. Are they delivered at home or at school?

Does every commended student/semi-finalist get a letter? I haven't gotten one and I got a 231 in NJ.

Anyone who is at least commended should receive a letter from their school. Some schools are quick to distribute them, others take forever to deliver them. As someone said above, you will only be told that you are recognized - you will not find out which level until August/September.

Letter for commended and semifinalists

My D1 got her letter Friday 4-17, and it was clear that it was for the top 50,000, commended and up, and the letters for semifinalists will be mailed in September (determined by state). A friend that was a finalist this year also explained it, and you don't know Finalist until late April/early May of senior year. We are in NM (homeschooled), and her score was 218, so hopefully she will make it all the way.

Some schools slow with letters

It seems that schools are slow delivering letters, so hopefully many will be receiving theirs this next week. We got ours at home because we are the school, so that's probably the speediest. Post when you do get it!

Nmsciencemom, you will find out about semifinalist in late August. At that point there is an application process (application, essay, GPA, school recommendation, SAT score) that determines Finalist status.

What about sophmore score at PSAT?

Are you speaking only about PSAT score for juniors? My daughter took PSAT as a sophmore and she got 199. do you think she is eligible if cut off goes to 199? Or not eligible because she is a sophmore?

Only your PSAT score from your junior year counts towards national merit

Sanchez, your school should have the letter by now. Maybe it hadn't made it to your counselor's desk.
Janesl1- Excellent score for your daughter, but sophomores are not eligible. Have her study before next year's test and try for NMSF.
