| Which SAT score should we send?
Please advise us for sending SAT scores to colleges who accept score choice policy. Here are the scores my son received...
October 2009: CR 730 MATH 730 WRITING 800
June 2009: CR 640 MATH 800 WRITING 620
January 2009: CR 680 MATH 720 WRITING 610
We have three options:
1) send all score...then the colleges will take the best scores from each section (CR 730, MATH 800, WRITING 800)
2) send October test only (CR 730 MATH 730 WRITING 800). My son got 800 for SAT MATH LEVEL 2C, so math score of 730 will be OK.
3) send June & October SAT score...hide the worst score of January and then get the advantage of highest score choices from each section of June's & October's (CR 730, MATH 800, WRITING 800)
How do you think??

You are fooling yourself.
The high school transcript has all of the test scores listed so the college sees them all. Some, such as Stanford, will give you a super score of CR 730, math 800, writing 800.
Send them all and be honest with the school. Don't kid yourself that they don't see them.

If high school puts scores on transcript, you can request that it not do so and many will comply with that request. If the college superscores, you are probably safe sending all three but sending the Oct and June test would be fine and perhaps even better than sending all three.

^^ not necessarily.
We homeschool so I could put whatever on the transcript that I want
I would think not all schools necessarily put them on the transcript, what would be the point of score choice?

I would do option 3 if the schools accept score choice, 70 points increase is nothing to be sneezed at, and most schools only look at the best composite score anyway. If a school asks for all scores, I would send them all, I can't imagine Jan score hurting your kid at all.
Congrats on the score, looks like your son has been working hard to get the improvement.

SweetMom. Before you do so, look at your school's transcripts. Having been on college adcom, we did not like people who "hid" scores. While the Board tells you you can choose, the school gets all of them as they are on your transcripts. (at almost every school that I can remember)

^^Princess'Dad: many schools are starting to take the SAT/ACT scores off of their transcripts due to the increasing number of students who are applying to test optional colleges.....just throwing that out there.....
just means that everyone HAS TO CHECK what the policy is at their particular high school; there is no "always" here...

Rodney,
I would agree with you, but don't just "check", you need to actually look at the transcripts. I know of several students who were told their scores were not sent in and they were on the official transcripts. However, I believe that you can request the college board Not to send the scores to your high school now.
