November 2009 SAT - Popular Culture Essay

Hey guys, I was wondering like I didn't get to finish the 2nd paragraph and give a conclusion. So if I wrote half way and get a 3, do you think it's still possible to get a 650-700 if everything else is correct?
How much does it hurt?

it hurts, but from the books I have I can tell you that you can make about 2 mistakes with a 6 essay to score a 700 and about 3 to stay within 650; good luck

I think you'll still be able to break a 700 if you do really well in the mc. Also, colleges don't look at the writing anyways...but good luck!

HopefulEagle86: Sorry to break it to you, but only finishing the opening paragraph and not finishing the second will hinder you quite a bit.

Its been proven that if you write alot, to the very last line of the given space you get a higher score. Plus what information you put.

Did you do a Background and thesis in the opening and have at minimum 2 body paragraphs about literature you read and something relevance?

here is what i did, speed writing skills. you write a hook, you make the background, you send a 3 statement thesis.

the value of society is important in the signifigance of popular culture through literature such as the Prince and the Pauper; through history such as, humanism movement and art through the Renaissance, and through personal everyday lives.

i was able to finish that in literally 24 1/2 minutes.

through practice essays and MC i was rolling out roughly...700's, but considering i studied more it should be higher

I wrote a good introduction and a body paragraph about the cultural values in Taiwan and how it differ than the American culture.

I was about to start on body paragraph 2 with the inspiration of literature Romeo and Juliet to love in reality. But I didn't get to write it (wrote about 2 or 3 sentences) and missed out the conclusion. =/

Is 650-700 still a reach?
