Help wanted. Im so scared

Today i took November 7th SAT I exam.
I sat next to real smart kid that I know from my school, to cheat.
He said he would help me with Reading section so after the essay writing, i had writing section and he had reading section. Foolishly, i was busy copying his answers for reading section on my answer sheet, not caring about my writing section. Then later i realized him and i had a totally different test with no same sections, and questions.

I copied like 11 questions, and i wrote those answers next to the bubble.

like that... its very visible.

i forgot to erase it at the end -_-;

so i was wondering if im gonna get caught, by the school sayin that why are there random numbers next to ur answers? were you cheating?

well if they do ask me, i will say yes, i was cheating, and was stupid enough to write them on my SAT answer sheet.

do you guys think school or admissions office will look inside the answer sheet?
will i get in trouble?

my friend told me that the harshest punishment would be a cancellation of score...
im okay with that...
i think i did alright, so i don't want to cancel it though.

help guys.

UUUGH! I hate hearing stories like this. Should I feel sorry for you 'cuz you cheated and then the answers you wrote were probably in the wrong row? How dare you cheat! And then admit it?!! Now I suppose many kids cheat, but geez, you probably won't get caught. So relax. But DON"T ever, EVER cheat again!

Now see, if you hadn't cheated in the first place, maybe you wouldn't have this dilemma. But as for your worries, I highly doubt that anyone will notice. Answer sheets are scored by computer and basically anything that is outside of the bubble won't be read/be accounted for in scoring. I highly doubt there are scorers at hand to check every single answer sheet at hand, and even if they did do random checks, the chances that they would stumble upon yours are very slim.
But again, next time, you would do yourself good to just not consider cheating at all.

limabeans: yes, i won't do it again, and never take SAT again. I regret it so much!

that's what i thought at first, however my friend told me that during his AP exam, he wrote small number on the answer sheet (to count omits) then the school called him over and investigated him, they let him go though... since he wasn't cheating or anything.

i feel like they would check inside the booklet
ah, so much stuff's going through my head right now.

What I don't like is that you are more concerned about getting caught than you are about your moral and character. You probably won't get caught, but seriously, hang your head in shame.

Yes, I learned my lesson. Thanks guys, although I can't bring myself to cancel my score; It was my very last shot to get into a better college.

Your score is gonna be absolutely terrible. You didn't even look at the questions, so you couldn't have gotten the right answers on many of them. If anything, it'll hurt your chances of getting into a better college.

I took the SAT just fine, I probably scored better than my previous one. It's just that during section 2, I spent about 30 seconds looking at his CR answers.... Maybe this explains the reason why I can't bring myself to cancel the score, despite the importance of the moral value.

So you want a score you don't deserve to get into a college that you don't deserve to go to, because you don't have the stats necessary to get into it without cheating? Do I have that right?

go / stop...remember, collegeboard allows you to cancel scores within a certain time, no questions asked. If you wait and decide to cancel later, however, you'll have to call them and somehow it'll come out that you cheated. The test was only a two days ago. Do the right thing and cancel those scores while you still can.

Cancel them while you can. Cheaters will be caught, they have computers checking these things. Otherwise it can go on your transcript, and you'll be super screwed.

Honestly, despite all these people saying to "cancel", etc., there is something everyone must remember: Cheating happens all the time. It does in schools, in class, everywhere. While I do not condone or support cheating, I believe that what happens happens. To the OP, you cheated. The test is over. It's stupid to cancel your score. Just never cheat again.

All these people overreacting, saying to cancel your scores are a joke.

This kid copied wrong answers, hurting his score. He/she isn't going to get into a better school because of it.

There are people out there who have someone else sit in and take the test for them. Happens all the time for college athletes. Thats a big deal...
This kid bubbling in a few wrong answers isnt going to hurt anyone, and its not going to corrupt him/her. Seriously. The responses in this thread are LOL worthy.

Was it wrong to cheat? Of course. Was it more than enough punishment to know that he/she bubbled in all wrong answers, and now is worrying about getting caught? Yes.
