Which scores to send??

I took the SAT in june and got a 2240 (800 w, 720 cr, 720 m) but I was really nervous since it was my first time and on most of my practice tests I had gotten 800s on cr and around 760 on math so I signed up to take them again.
however, I had absolutely no time to prepare at all and just took them on the oct test date basically cold since june and I got a lower score of 2180 (800 w, 700 cr, 680 m).
Now, I have to send in both of these scores to most of the competitive schools I'm applying to such as Georgetown and so I'm wondering if this lower second score is going to affect my chances of admission??!?
All the schools say that they consider the highest scores of each section, but then why would they ask that you send in all of your scores in the first place??
In some cases, I can use score choice, but I've heard that it can look bad because it looks like your hiding something. or something to that effect.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK
