Is 1850 a good SAT score?

I took the SAT on December 5 and just recieved my scores today. This was my first time taking it and I did not study or prepare. Is 1850 a good score?

For some people, it's a great score. For others, it'd be a very disappointing score.

No. Don't ask us for an answer and then say we're "snobby" when we tell you the truth.

Some of them PRETEND they are snobby. Actually it is a good score. But however, if you want to apply to MIT and Stanford..then it might not be a good score.

It is a fine score for many schools. It is not a good score for Ivy league etc. It is probably around the 90th percentile. Which really is great. However, a lot of student on CC are in the high 90's for percentile, so for them it doesn't look great. It really is a matter of perspective.
Look at the schools you are interested in and see how you fall in their score range. That is what matters, not how you do compared to students applying to schools you aren't interested in . If the schools you ARE interested in look for higher scores, well then... it isn't a great score and you will need to find other schools or retake and hope you do better.

Hm... If you got into the 1800s without studying, then what are the chances you can get 300 points or more higher the next time, with intensive studying?

i don't think it's incredibly likely that you'll improve by 300 points with study, but it is possible.

1850 isn't a BAD score. it depends where you're looking, of course.
