Can you take the PSAT twice?

Can anyone let me know whether you can take the PSAT more than once, and if this is advisable? Is there a rule about what grade you must be in? If you took it in Fall of Sophomore year, could you take it again Fall of Junior year? How does this relate to National Merit Scholars?
