SAT raw score conversion

Does the SAT raw score to scaled score conversion table vary from test date to test date? I mean, does a raw score of X in always correspond to a scaled score of Y?

I noticed that the conversion table used by Kaplan (in their test prep book) is different from the one used in the CollegeBoard test prep book. e.g if you get 2-3 wrong in CR, you can still score 800 (per CollegeBoard), but not so per Kaplan. This is very confusing. Any one know better?

Thx.

The SAT Raw Score conversion varies from test to test. Here's a conversion chart for a number of different sittings:

Thanks for the info. I noticed that the scaled scores for Writing go upto to 80 and not 800. Why so? Also, is essay score included in this?

The chart also seems to indicate that if you get 1-2 questions wrong, you may/may not get the same score as in test preps.

Writing consists of two components, the scaled score based on your Multiple choice raw score, and the essay score. The essay score, which is out of 12, counts for about 30% of your writing score. The scaled score (out of 80) counts for the remaining percentage.

The bit out of 80 is determined solely by the multiple choice sections.
